#IreadYA Week!
May 19 – 23, 2014
hosted by This Is Teen
All week long This Is Teen, a part of the Scholastic family, is hosting #IreadYA week. All week I'll be blogging to their prompts. To help support the cause I'll do a drawing for a Scholastic book of choice at the end of the week!
I have a particular soft spot for Scholastic books because they opened up the world of obsessive penny saving, book fairs and book catalogs. Getting that order form from my teacher was like gold. My family did not have a lot of money to spend on fun stuff like books so Scholastic was my shot at mini-christmases and to read. I distinctly remember filling plastic sandwich bags of pennies and whatever change I could find around the house to negotiate for books.
