Project Binge Watch: Friday Night Lights

So I've decided that I will watch all five seasons of Friday Night Lights, the TV show. I'm sure many people have already seen this, but when it aired I was in college so there was not a lot of time for TV since I was living the show in East Texas. Seriously.

Why Friday Night Lights? Why not Gilmore Girls or something more bookish?

Simple reason, I've never seen it and the show was filmed at my high school in season one and used my high school's uniforms/mascot throughout the series. Also, there is a non-fiction book and a movie titled Friday Night Lights, which lead to the TV adaptation.

I heart Gilmore Girls but let's be honest. It's been done. I have had a couple suggestions for a re-watch of Dawson's Creek so that maybe Project Bing Watch #2.

What? Your high school and Dillon HS are the same?

Sort of, Dillon is a fictional town. In season one the football uniforms, letter jackers, logos are all adopted from Pflugerville HS in central Texas and that's where I went. I understand in later seasons the focus transitions to East Dillon HS abandoning the Panther logo and blue/gold.

The top photo is from my letter jacket and the bottom photo is from the inside of my senior yearbook.

So this was pretty much my reality for four years... sweaty football boys who wore their jerseys to class on Fridays...

So this leads to project Binge Watch!

All five seasons are available on Instant Watch via Netflix if you want to watch-along and discuss each week. I will do a DVD giveaway after I finish each season!

I'll be doing recap posts on Mondays of the episodes I watched the previous week. My guess is that it'll take me about 8-9 weeks to work through all 76 episodes.

Look for the first recap post on Monday, May 19!

  1. I absolutely LOVE this series. It is one of my all time favorites (next to Dawson's Creek and Gilmore Girls). The series finale of Friday Night Lights is my favorite series finale EVER. It ended perfectly. And I absolutely adore Matt Seracen:)
