For them, free will is a luxury . . .

Greg Papilio both wants and dreads his impending metamorphosis. He's tired of being an ugly runt--always picked last on the basketball court--when he could be strong and what girls call "drop dead gorgeous." But as much as he looks forward to the transformation, he also fears the caste it will inevitably assign to him. He doesn't want a common caste. He wants a powerful one, a cool one.

Samantha Gibson is average. She's short and a little full around the hips--a terribly cute look for a future chef. She's two years away from culinary school, from her uncaring parents, and from carving a perfectly Human future. She wants independence, a career and a quiet life of her own.

Except fate couldn't care less about what Greg and Samantha want and gives them exactly the opposite. Greg's metamorphosis assigns him a caste that enslaves him, while Samantha's chance to attend Le Cordon Bleu is taken away. But things are never as interesting as when Ashby--an intriguing blonde with a hidden identity--enters her life with a splash.

Greg's fate is to be Samantha's Keeper, to protect her at a time when someone wants her dead. He will stop at nothing to ensure her safety, even if her secret past proves deadly, even if he's keeping her safe for someone else.

Keeper introduces readers to a race known as Morphids with main characters Greg, Sam and Ashby. Each chapter unfolds a different angle to reveal each teen's experience with being a Morphid and what they bring to the table.

Part mutants and part fantasy, Morphids are surrounded by fate, magic and the human world. Greg immediately captures the reader's attention with his metamorphoses taking place only pages in. Through Greg and his parents the way of the Morphids is laid out and the world starts to build around this event. Greg is anxious to learn his fate, to protect Sam. Sam is oblivious. Then enter in Ashby who hails from England, although it's unclear if it's in the same year or if time travel is involved, and is fated to Sam while plagued by his mother's leadership. The triangle that invariably forms between the three is not what you'd think but definitely has you rooting for a happy ending between all the action and swoons.

The magic and bonds are complex and with their own rules, timing is everything. The uniqueness of the Morphid magic allows Keeper to stand on it's own in a sea of fantasy reads. With quick pacing there are more questions than answers but Seymour makes it easy to forget and just live in the now with the story. As each page turned another hour passed on a thrilling ride

Why I'm hoping this isn't the end...

The ending is quick but solid and the setup for more Morphid Chronicles is totally there and I want it! I need to know what happens to Sam and the Regency, I want to know about her lineage, her relationship with the guys... all of it!!!! I'm totally team Greg just so you know. ;) There are feels at risk here.

This is a really awesome indie read and I would love to see it get more publicity so all the readers can experience the Morphid world. If you're looking for a different kind of fantasy with swoons then pick this up!

P.S. – You can get all four volumes for $3.99 Kindle edition on Amazon right now and it's totally worth it.

Ingrid Seymour

Ingrid Seymour loves, loves, loves to write. She’s a young and new adult author. She writes in a variety of genres including romance, urban fantasy, paranormal and horror. She loves pizza and sushi, Sunkist and gum. She believes in vampires, witches, but not zombies (uh-uh, never!) She writes to loud music, daydreams constantly and spends too much time in twitter!! Find her there? ;) Ingrid has incredible fun doing what she does, but more than anything she enjoys hearing from her readers. It’s a dream come true.
