[Top Ten Tuesday] Books I'm Not Sure I Want To Read

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish

Top 10 Books I'm Not Sure I Want to Read

Oh my... books I've heard about, bought, borrowed, etc. that I'm not sure I want to read. I'm notorious for buyers remorse and adding too many books to my queue. I decided to focus on the bestsellers list since I like to read the hyped books but these ten have been sitting for a while...

in no particular order

All the John Green
The only John Green I've read is The Fault in Our Stars and loved it but now I'm scared to read anymore John Green.

The Falconer by Elizabeth May
I bought this the day it came out. Haven't been motivated to read it yet...

Panic by Lauren Oliver
Bought this shortly after it was released and even won a copy down the road. Don't worry I gave away the extra copy... still sitting on my shelf though.

To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
So many mixed reviews have encouraged me to let this sit on the shelf. I still love the idea of the novel I'm just scared I won't actually love the novel.

Mortal Instrument Series by Cassandra Clare
Read the first book and it was okay. On the fence about whether I want to continue or not...

Maximum Ride by James Patterson
The paperback has been on my self for a while now...

Talk to me:

What should I be reading or passing on? Help!

  1. I'm currently reading 'Panic.' It started off really well but I'm not feeling it quite as much now I've passed the mid-point. I'm going to stick with it but it's not quite what I expected.

  2. I just recently finished The Falconer and really enjoyed it! It's FULL of action, if you like books like that (it's always a plus for me) but it does end in a nasty middle-of-scene cliffhanger :(

  3. I'm reading Panic at the moment and the first chapter or so was great but now I'm starting to get a bit annoyed by it. I feel the same as you about The Mortal Instruments too, but I haven't actually read any!

  5. I think the Mortal Instruments gets better as the series goes on. I liked City of Ashes a lot more than City of Bones.
As for John Green - the other books are different from TFIOS. They aren't as heartbreaking nor as romantic but still full of quirky off beat characters . For me they were different enough from TFIOS that I wasn't really comparing them at all.

  6. I enjoyed Panic, I enjoy Lauren Oliver's writing, and Panic was really interesting. To All the Boys I've Loved Before was a DNF for me. I couldn't stand the main character.
